I won't spoil the full answer for you but let's just say it might hurt. A lot. In fact proton beams are now used to treat cancerous tumors in people's brains and lungs, a medical procedure known as hadron therapy. Other improved versions of the method involve shooting carbon nuclei at the target tumor to burn it instantly. So not such a silly question after all...
